On Saturday, July 10 2018 in Union City, California, our Creative Director Ken Nishimura was recognized for his outstanding work within his community by Mayor Carol Dutra-Vernaci and Mighty 4 Arts Foundation. This Proclamation was awarded and recited to the Union City community by Council Woman Pat D. Gacoscos at Mighty 4’s 20th Anniversary held at Old Avarado Park 3871 Smith Street Union City, CA.
“Whereas Rock Force Crew also focuses on education, community building projects, drug prevention awareness and mentorship to empower communities for long term sustainability. In March of 2018, a RFC member Ken Nishimura residing in Honolulu, Hawaiˈi partnered with Hawaiˈi Department of Attorney Generals Office and The Coalition of a Drug Free Hawaiˈi to create a youth collaborative mural. The mural served as the gateway to educate the youth about the dangers of drugs and alcohol.”
Ken also was invited to speak on a Mental Health Awareness panel “Hip Hop, Health and Hope”.
